Beyond AI First: Choosing AI Initiatives That Survive the Reality Check
Which AI initiatives deserve a company's attention, which should wait, and how to tell the two apart before the budget is spent.

Europe has invested less in AI and would lose less in a crash. Many call that an advantage. Marc reads it as a reminder of the year 2000.
If the bubble bursts, compute gets cheap and the frontier labs lose their subsidy. If it does not, prices climb. A strategy that needs the answer first was never one.
Token prices are going up and frontier access is getting metered. What rising AI costs mean for the jobs panic, and why your independence is the new risk.
Story
I was 14 and ran a gaming clan. I wanted us better organised than everyone else, so I wrote a chatbot for our IRC channel (IRC, Slack's much cooler predecessor). It could read out the match schedule and the weather, it had a memory, and it talked to the people in the channel.
Twenty-five years later I still do the same thing, only the stakes moved. The question at 14 was what this technology can do. The questions today are whether people will use it, whether the return is real, and how we safeguard the data that matters.
In 2025, together with Dr. Artur Hahn, I founded Omniance to build these systems on the latest research. Companies are handing AI a lot right now: their data, their processes and, in places, already their decisions. We build our systems sovereign. That means our clients keep full control over their data and AI models. The curiosity is the same as at 14. The clan got bigger.
Company
AI consulting and engineering. We find the use case worth building with the client, then build, integrate and operate the system.

Data sovereignty by design
The client's data stays under the client's control, on their own infrastructure or in a European cloud.
The client decides which models run
OpenAI, a European provider or open source: the model is chosen per use case and can be swapped at any time.
Runs with what is already there
ERP, CRM, legacy systems. The existing process logic stays intact, and AI takes work off the team without disrupting operations.
ROI before the build
Every project starts with a profitability calculation. If the business case does not hold, we say so before anyone invests.
