Judgment no longer keeps humans ahead of AI. It lets you enter new fields in weeks

Judgment is where humans still win vs. AI.

That fairy tale is falling apart.

With the launch of every new frontier model, I feel the areas in which my judgment is better than the model's are shrinking.

Let's take copywriting for example. I've been writing copy for many years now. Spent countless hours training this skill. Yet, I'm not particularly talented in this craft.

Since Opus 4.6, not to mention Fable 5, the model has very often outcompeted me at predicting what hook will land, how a certain paragraph will resonate, how certain wording will be perceived.

After all those years of training this skill, the model now judges better than I do.

That's why I don't believe the story of judgment being the skill that keeps humans relevant when competing with AI.

AI already judges better than most people, in a fraction of the time. It will beat us in one area after the other. It has started with coding and copy.

Only in the rare combination of being highly talented and having honed your skills in a particular area will you be able to win against AI.

Most of us are not that talented.

Yet, I'm very excited about AI. Why?

Every field where the model judges better than me is a field I can now enter. Explore it faster. Create something better. Combine it with my expertise in other areas.

Getting ready to impact a new field in a good way used to take many months or years. Now: weeks or a few months.

I'm curious, in which field has AI already out-judged you?
